TThe Blue Whale is a marine mammal, and is believed to be the largest animal ever to have lived, at up to 100 feet in length and 150 tons or more in weight. The Blue whale was almost hunted to extinction by whalers, but whaling was outlawed in 1960. Even though of its extreme weight is can reach speeds if 50 mph! The whale is so massive you could fit 50 humans on its tongue.

The Great White Shark, also know as the White pointer, is a giant shark that can reach lengths of 20 feet and weighing almost 4,000 pounds, it’s the worlds largest predatory fish. They are found in cold or mild waters around Australia and South Africa. A Great White Shark has a six sense that lets them detect electromagnetic waves in movements of animals. Great White sharks primarily eat fish, smaller sharks, turtles, dolphins, and seals.

Stingrays are common in the tropical costal waters throughout the world, and there are some fresh water Stingrays in South America. Most species of stingray are neither threatened or endangered. Stingrays are not aggressive at all, they do not attack, or defend themselves they normally just swim away. When a person does get stung the treatment is for a person to stand in water as hot as possible.

Giant squids were once believed to be mythical creatures, but now we know there might be as many as eight species. There not call Giant for the heck of it, these creatures can go to be tremendous in size at a whopping 34 feet for males and 44 feet for females. Even though the squid is massive they are pretty light compared to there main predator the sperm whale. The giant squid’s eyes are a foot long! The crazy thing about these creatures is that they can still float.

Jellyfish are marine invertebrates; the body of an adult jellyfish is composed of a bell-shaped, jellylike substance that encloses its internal structure. There entire body is covered with stinging tentacles that will stun or kill animals. When a jellyfish is an adult 94-98% of its body is made up of water. Most jellyfish just feed on small fish and will occasionally sting a person on accident.
